The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Southwest Zone D, has extended heartfelt birthday felicitations to Commandant Igbalawole Emmanuel Sotiyo, the esteemed Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Osun State Command.
In a statement issued by the Assistant General Secretary of the Zone, Comrade Adeyemo Josiah Kayode (Billioncodes), the student body described Commandant Sotiyo as “a gallant defender of peace and order whose unwavering commitment to public safety, discipline, and service continues to inspire confidence across Osun State.”
The statement lauded Commandant Sotiyo’s leadership as “a symbol of stability, honour, and national integrity,” commending his dedication to maintaining peace and supporting community safety initiatives, particularly during challenging times.
NANS Southwest also used the occasion to remind the Commandant of an earlier formal request for a courtesy visit submitted by the association.
According to Comrade Adeyemo, the visit aims to strengthen collaboration between NANS and the NSCDC in the areas of student safety, campus security, and national development.
“As we celebrate the Commandant’s new age, we humbly restate our desire for a productive partnership that will enhance student-security synergy across tertiary institutions in Osun State and the Southwest region at large,” the statement read.
The Zone D leadership expressed optimism that such collaboration will foster a safer learning environment for students and promote civic responsibility among youths.
“We wish Commandant Sotiyo many more years of strength, wisdom, and impactful service to our dear state and the nation,” the statement concluded.
