The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Southwest Zone D, has honoured the Chief Executive Officer of GEOM Group of Companies, Alhaji Mutiu Opeyemi Owolabi, in recognition of his contributions to student welfare and youth development.
The recognition was announced during a courtesy visit by the Office of the Director of Mobilization of NANS Southwest, led by Comrade Banjo Daniel, popularly known as Hon. Banjo, to the businessman in Osun State.
According to the student body, the visit was aimed at appreciating Owolabi’s sustained interventions and humanitarian efforts targeted at supporting students and empowering young people across the Southwest region.
Speaking during the visit on behalf of the NANS Southwest Coordinator, the Chief of Staff, Comrade Adebiyi Caleb Adeyemi, also known as Billionsmile, described Owolabi as a visionary leader whose commitment to grassroots development continues to inspire hope among Nigerian youths.
He commended the GEOM Group CEO for his dedication to educational advancement and urged other corporate leaders and well-meaning Nigerians to invest in initiatives that support students and young people.
Adeyemi noted that the contributions of individuals like Owolabi remain critical to promoting youth inclusion, educational support, and community development.
In recognition of his impact, NANS Southwest presented Owolabi with an Award of Honour as a distinguished Patron of NANS Southwest Mobilization.
The association said the award symbolises his enduring contributions to humanity and his commitment to improving the lives of students and youths.
NANS Southwest further reiterated its commitment to building strategic partnerships that would enhance student welfare and promote sustainable youth development across the region.
Reacting to the honour, Owolabi expressed appreciation to the leadership of NANS Southwest for the recognition, describing the award as a motivation to intensify his support for students and youths across the country.
He reaffirmed his commitment to initiatives aimed at empowering young people through educational assistance, mentorship programmes, and other developmental interventions capable of improving their future prospects.
